Challenges
A corporate uniform supplier in the United States who was using WooCommerce for a long time to directly sell to uniform buyers was recently approached by a few businesses with niche uniform needs. These clients essentially wanted a dedicated uniform store tailored to the needs of their employees to ensure strong brand compliance and efficient budgetary control.
While WooCommerce did exceptionally well with B2C uniform delivery, it didn’t quite fit the bill with B2B uniform program management. Firstly, the platform wasn’t purpose-built for uniform programs. It was heavy on B2C features, whereas our client was in need of uniform-centric features that gave businesses a seamless digital experience.
Even the most basic B2B ecommerce features like customizable checkout role-based ordering weren’t available out-of-the-box and our client had to rely on extensions developed by third-party vendors making maintenance, customization’ and security a nightmare.
Furthermore, even if they had the capability to manage multiple employee stores from a single admin using their existing ecommerce platform, the process was complicated and necessitated frequent involvement from the IT team.
Overview of Core Challenges
- Lack of uniform-centric features
- No provision for group selling
- Limited scope of customization
- High total cost of ownership
