Once you have a catalog loaded into your store, UniformMarket will update that catalog as often as we receive updated information from the manufacturer. The timing of updates many be monthly, seasonal or annually.
Here is a description of the different ways Categories and Products are Added, Updated and/or Archived through the catalog subscription process.
Categories:

- Additions - Categories are added to match UniformMarket's master version of a catalog. You can view these at http://uniformmarket.com/catalogs-available.html
- Updates - Categories are updated as far as Category Name, Description and Image each time a catalog update runs. If the store owner has made any changes to the category name, description or image then the category is automatically locked, and UniformMarket will never update the category again. This does not affect any products assigned to the category.
- Archiving- The status of a category is set to archive on an update only if the store owner has not changed anything and the master version of the catalog no longer uses that category.

- Operate completely independent from catalog service, even if you assign them to appear within a catalog that UniformMarket helps you maintain. You can freely add, edit and remove categories yourself and UniformMarket will not adjust them.
Products:

- Additions - New products added to UniformMarket's master version of a catalog are automatically loaded to your system and assigned to your Default Store. If you have other stores you will need to manually assign these products to the other stores.
- Updates - Any product changes made in UniformMarket's master version of a catalog are also automatically made to the product in your system. These include items such as Product Name, Description, Images, Options, SKU's and Prices. Category Assignments are also updated, but only categories maintained by UniformMarket, you can create your own and catalog service does not touch them. To manage a product yourself, simply click on the Full Lock check box in the General Data area of a product in your store admin.
- Archiving - Products that are removed or archived from the master version of the catalog are automatically archived in your store. Similarly, individual SKUs that are removed from the master version of the catalog, such as when the specific color/size is discontinued, are automatically archived in your store. To manage a product and its SKUs yourself, effectively turn off any future updates by UniformMarket simply click on the Full Lock check box in the General Data area of a product in your store admin.
