As a store owner at UniformMarket, you are likely subscribing to data services for a number of manufacturer catalogs. This means that UniformMarket is automatically updating the products and SKUs from that supplier, whenever they send us updated information.

There are cases where you, as the Store Owner, want to turn off those automatic updates for individual products or SKUs. You may not want to sell that item at all, wish to control the pricing on your own or use the product in a Private Store and ensure the particulars for that customer will not be changed by the automatic data services.

Store owners can LOCK a product and/or SKUs in multiple ways. Here is a description of the different levels and a chart to help understand:

FULL LOCK - The Store Owner takes complete control over the Product in all stores and for all SKUs.
  • Example use: Store owner does not want to sell the product at all.
  • How to set: Go to Active Products, find the product, edit the product and check the the Full Lock check box, click Update.
SKU LOCK - The Store Owner takes control for all stores, but only for the SKU or SKUs they have locked.
  • Example use: Store Owner wants to sell the product but only ever sells the item in one color, even though the supplier offers it in three.
  • How to set: Go to Active Products, find the product, click the name of product to the edit product, click the General SKUs tab, check the box under SKU Lock column for those SKUs you want to lock, click Update.
STORE LOCK - The Store Owner takes complete control over the product and all SKUs for this specific store only.
  • Example use: Store owner runs a public store where they want this manufacturer's products updated by the data service. They also run a private customer store and want to sell a product from the same supplier but only offer it in one color, in specific sizes and priced just for that customer.
  • How to set: Go to Active Products, select the Store to filter on along with any other criteria required to find the product and click Search to find the product, click Bulk Edit, check the box under Store Lock column, click Update. Note that the Store Lock column will ONLY appear if your search filter includes a selection that is not "General".
STORE SKU - The Store Owner takes control over just the SKU or SKUs in a specific store.
  • Example use: Store owner runs a public store where they want this manufacturer's products updated by the data service. They also run a private customer store and want to have the products updated by teh data service, but perhaps still restrict the product to one color for that customer.
  • How to set: Go to Active Products, find the product, click the name of product to the edit product, click the Stores tab, click edit under the SKUs column for the store SKUs you wish to edit, check the box under Store SKU Lock column for those SKUs you want to lock, click Update.

Here is a chart that shows what the Store Owner controls in each type of data service subscription setting.
