Eudora 5.2 for Windows (Existing Installation)
SYMPTOMS
Please follow the directions below for reconfiguring your email client to work with uniformmarket.com if you're using Qualcomm's Eudora 5.2 for Windows. These instructions assume an existing installation where the new account wizard is not available; new Eudora users will want to see our new installation version of this document.
SOLUTION
From within Eudora, you will need to be on the "Options" screen. This is found by clicking on the "Options" item in the "Tools" menu.
- The good news is there are only four small screens to change settings on. The first is the "Getting Started" screen and may be the only one you really need to change. It will already be selected from opening the "Options" box.
On this page, you will first configure your "Real name". This is how your name appears to people you send email to, this is the display name and is not your email address. It can be your real name, your company name, or even a combination like in our example picture below. The return address is your actual email address.
The incoming mail server will traditionally be mail..com where you replace with your actual domain name hosted with uniformmarket.com, in our example we've used mydomain.com as the customer's domain name so his mail server is mail.mydomain.com.
Eudora next wants the "Login Name" or what we will call your username. With uniformmarket.com, your username is your complete email address so enter it there the same as in the "Return address" field.
Finally is the outgoing email server. You will use the same server you configured for incoming, namely, mail..com. Make sure you check "Allow authentication", this is required.

- The next category in your Options window will be "Checking Mail". The mail server box may already be filled in based on the last screen using mail..com, if it is not, fill it in using the same instructions as the last screen. The login name should also be automatically filled in but if not, fill that in using the same instructions as the last screen as well. You may optionally tell it to save your password if no one else uses your computer. The "Check for mail every ## minutes" box can be set to have Eudora automatically check for new messages. We appreciate customers not setting it to less than two minutes.

- The third Category will be the "Incoming Mail" screen. Here you select the type of email account, typically POP. IMAP is available for advanced users but please understand its limitations before using it.

- The last screen relating to uniformmarket.com settings is the "Sending Mail" screen. Enter your email address one more time in the "Return Address" box if it's not already there, and please follow the same instructions as you did for the first screen if the SMTP server is not already there. Ensure the "Allow authentication" box is still checked and then you should be ready to use your new settings.
