We have contiued to grow our online help and support areas for the UniformMarket Store System. While we are always available to assist users via email and telephone (how many of you have spent hours already in GoTo Meeting sessions with us!), UniformMarket does offer a variety of ways to get help online.
Plus, it was one year ago we talked about how to use the Create SKUs feature. We just love this part of the software... so... it's time to review it again.

Please Help Me!
UniformMarket offers many places to find help when you're stuck on a part of the website or have questions on how to either move a project foward or order something new. Below, I'll walk you through the different sections of our help page, found at www.uniformmarket.com/help.
The help page is shown in the picture below. It's full of useful information, all of which can be accessed in the left nav, or left side of the site.
The first section of the left nav is our online help section. This section contains our help files for both the Uniform Market Store System. The help files include a wide range of topics, including but not limited to, products, categories, skus, and options.
Below this is our Online training modules and our FAQ. We've also included Simple HTML commands for your ease in programming simple parts of your website.
The email and webmail section of the help files are extremely important to any user utilizing the email functionality at UniformMarket. Here, you can find out how to set up your Outlook correctly and troubleshoot any email problems. Also finishing out the first section is the UMSS Tokens Manual, which helps anyone wanting to work on their own templates and tokens.
The next section of the site involves work requests for UniformMarket to perform on your site. These are pretty self explanitory and involve anything from updates to the site to adding private stores and all in between. Each specific link takes you to a request form that's received by UniformMarket and put into a production task to be completed.
The last section of the left nav is the section pertaining to Marketing Tools. Here, you can find out more information about SEO and SEA and request both to be done for your website. You can also look into the option of postcards, which are a very effective marketing tool to get your name out to both new and old customers.
Hopefully this small walk through gives you more of an idea of what UniformMarket can help you out with when you're ready to make a change to your site. How many SKUs does
this product have?! And the prices are all different? Don't worry... SKU generator is here.
We all know the products that instill the greatest fear
for uniform sales organizations... a single product that
comes in multiple colors and sizes, with price shifts for
color and oversizes.
The UniformMarket Store System has a SKU generator that
tackles this exact problem. By selecting the right options,
a product in the UMSS system can be entered very quickly
(compared to most software systems, that is).
You can follow an example from the pictures (follow link
to see bigger picture if desired). The product is available
in white, blue and pink. White will use the base price of
$26.30, but blue will increase the price by $1.00 and Pink
by $2.00. The product will come in small through 4X-large,
with 2X adding 10% to the price, 3X adding 15% and 4X adding
25% to the base price (per color).
Here are the specific steps to set generate the SKUs at
the desired prices.
USING THE SKU GENERATOR:
1. Add a new product (if you haven't already) by clicking
ADD NEW in the UMSS Admin
2. Enter all appropriate GENERAL DATA you care to:
- Remember
to also select the product options upon which your
SKUs will be built (color, alpha size, neck, sleeve, waist,
etc).
- This is where you also enter a BASE PRICE from which
all the other price adjustments will be calculated.
3. Click the CREATE SKUs tab along the top of the product
screen.
4. Select the options from each column that apply to that
product.
- If the column is COLOR, then check the boxes of
the colors the product comes in.
- If the column is ALPHA
SIZE then select the sizes the product is available
in.
5. Enter your price adjustments
- If the product is available in multiple colors and some
colors bump the price, then use the PRICE ADJUSTMENT
columns to instruct the SKU GENERATOR how to calculate
the price adjustment. You can set it to replace the entire
price, add a specific amount to the base price or add a
percentage of the base price to the price.
- If the product is available in multiple size configurations
and some sizes bump the price, then use the PRICE ADJUSTMENT
columns to instruct the SKU GENERATOR accordingly.
6. Click SHOW. This will generate a preview of all the possible
SKUs the system can generate based on your selection of options
(colors and sizes, for example). You will see the system
calculated each SKUs price for you according to your instructions.
7. Select the SKUs you actually wish to create by clicking
on select boxes in first column Or, if you want all of
them use the select all check box at the top of the column
8. Click CREATE. This is last step and the point at which
SKUs will actually be generated and moved to the GENERAL
SKUs area of the product.
Don't panic though. You can always go back, delete SKUs
and start over!
